New Orleans’ accessible French cuisine

Food was delicious- the brussel sprout appetizer was a surprise flavor bomb I was not expecting. Our group of 4 with various taste buds ordered salmon, steak frittes, and a sandwich. Raving reviews on the steak frittes and salmon. The sandwich was bigger than my husband expected and didn't finish but he said it was very good. Small establishment with big flavors. A bit pricey for lunch, but delicious. Vacay, YOLO!

Exceptional restaurant! Izzat is barely off the beaten path allowing for fast seating and delicious food served quickly by the friendliest staff in NOLA. Perfect assortment of French cuisine for a break from typical Creole fare. Favorite find during this trip.

This place is absolutely AMAZING! From the people working there, to the atmosphere, to the amazing food; eating here is truly a wonderful experience. I can't wait to go back again soon!. If you're in New Orleans go here. Genuinely just do it. It's a perfect first meal to start off a vacation. And perfect for that everyday meal before you head out on an adventure!.

Outstanding restaurant with some of the best service and most wonderful people! Every dish is served with a glowing smile and an incredibly welcoming attitude! Stand out Dishes have to be the steak frites, grilled salmon and French lentil soup. Dont forget the creme brulee for dessert!

Izzat is a must stop for French Cuisine in New Orleans. It's a small, space but the food and drinks are fantastic. Do not over look this place on your stay, you won't be disappointed.

Our hotel recommended us to try this very cute French cafe. We were greeted with a smile by Elizabeth, and her customer service throughout our breakfast was excellent. Walked right in on a Sunday morning to a cool, relaxing atmosphere with music that added to the ambiance. Service was wonderful and such care was taken with the food. Our 10-year-olds were delighted with the yummy Nutella crepes topped with strawberries and bananas. We can’t decide if we enjoyed the delicious tomato sandwich or croquet monsieur more and the latte hit the spot. Definitely a can’t miss place an easy walk from our hotel!

We walked by this cute little place the night before and decided we should come back the next day for breakfast - Wow I am so glad we did. The food was absolutely delicious. Warm, friendly service. They have a robust menu, fresh ingredients and welcoming atmosphere. The coffee was fantastic as well. This is a must stop !!!

Tried going to Sun Chong just down the street, but the wait was over an hour so we stumbled into Izzat and couldn't have been more pleased! The french onion soup? Amazing. The french dip? Haven't had one better in my life. & the mussels were so good too! Drinks were not only pretty but also tasty. Will definitely be coming back to this gem!

Everything we ate was delicious. Husband had the French Dip with shoestring fries and I had the lentil soup (amazing!!!), brussels sprouts, Lyonnaise potatoes, and crème brûlée. Our server was efficient and friendly. The restaurant is small but feels comfortable and has a casual atmosphere. We will definitely come back if visiting the area again.

This is honestly one of the best places to eat in New Orleans. Theres a reason they have such great reviews! The food, the service, the price, everything is so well done here. We had the French Dip Sandwich, Lentil Soup, and House Salad and only stopped because we were so full. The flavors are amazing portions are perfect. Whether you are a local or a visitor, you have to try this place once, if not more! We will be returning and recommending this place to everyone we know!

This is genuinely the best food I’ve EVER had in my life. I got the French dip with shoestring fries, plus the lentil soup appetizer. Oh. My. God. I could not believe how good it was- I finished my food in less than 20 minutes because of how bomb it was!!! The people were SO nice here and the atmosphere was wonderful. I will be recommending this to everyone back home in California- trust me that we don’t have food like this. I’m in disbelief and will be raving about it until the day I die 😍

During a trip to New Orleans we visited quite a few restaurants. The one of high regard happens to be on our last day in town.
We happen upon this restaurant, which happens to have outdoor seating and indoor seating.
We came for breakfast and wish we came for lunch o dinner every night!
The food was absolutely amazing! A+ for the food, chefs delight on a very reasonable price.
The staff was lovely and to hear that it’s a lovely small business very much much cared for we could tell with The effort and deliciousness of the food.

Izzat…what can I say? It lives up to its name! It delivered exactly what it advertised, prestige. I was recommended to order a French Dip. I also ordered an Illy cappuccino. Everything I received, from the service to the food was far superior than expected. If you are in or around New Orleans and want French, Izzat is your place! Do not pass this place up, stop in and grab a superb coffee and some amazing food!

Stumbling upon this little corner in a quiet alley of New Orleans feels like stepping into a french bistro and being transported straight to Paris. It's been some time since I've had soupe à l'oignon quite as delicious and authentic as this one. Staff was very welcoming and made us feel right at home. Truly a hidden gem in plain sight, if I ever return to NOLA, I shall pay Izzat a visit once more.

Out of 5 days vacationing in New Orleans, we ate at this quaint and cozy restaurant for 3 of those days. That's how good the food is. Loved their salads, crepes, sandwiches and soup. Generous portions, reasonable prices and very friendly service. Best part of our trip.

If you want a small menu experience where someone actually cares about the food they're serving customer, this is a gem.

I wish I could give more than 5 stars. This was the first restaurant we tried in NOLA and I can’t recommend it enough. The food was superb. The wait staff was attentive. The drinks were wonderful. The atmosphere was top notch. Best experience.

Yum!!!! A nice hole in the wall gem in close walking distance of the aquarium and riverwalk. We had spinach and artichoke dip and the cheese plate for the table which were delish and then I got the salmon with lemon capers sauce and asparagus. Everything was sooo good & also amazingly they accommodated us even though we came an entire hour before our reservation was set for (because of some circumstances of our own doing) but were happily surprised they were able to seat us anyhow. Elizabeth is amazing and attentive, ask for her!!!

Economical French-American fare with the ́’Big Easy’ energy blended with Parisian cafe ambiance.

The dishes were delightful, the lamb was a pleasant party in the mouth of spices, as were the strawberry crepes.

They let us stay for more than hour to eat, shoot the breeze and do some work. Lovely experience!

The waitress was so kind & welcoming. Sat outside for a nice brunch. We are staying at The Westin & it was a 2 min walk. The food & service was outstanding.

We had an excellent first visit to Izzat the other day. Service was very welcoming and helpful. I haven’t seen many French Dips in the city so I was excited about this one. The price for the sandwich, au jus, and fries was $22- the fries were my favorite that I’ve had in New Orleans, since they were shoestring style very thin and crunchy crispy and lightly seasoned. I split the sandwich with my partner and it was really good (though it made me crave some horseradish)- the beef was tender and juicy and the flavor of the cheese was really complementary to the sandwich. We also ordered a decaf iced mocha, and a crème brûlée for dessert- both of which were very good, not too sweet and the crème brûlée had a wonderfully crispy caramelized top with fresh fruits. The space was simple, cafe style and relatively quiet- indoor tables and outdoor table seating with umbrellas. It was a nice visit, whenever we get a craving for French dips we will be going here!

Went for dinner, we had the Moules Fritte (mussels) and the Lentil Soup. Both dishes were amazing, the mussels were so fresh and covered in a lovely white wine creamy sauce, perfect for dipping the shoestring fries into. Would highly recommend dining here.

I’m a vegetarian and was looking for somewhere quick to get a bit to eat before I continued exploring and ran up on this gem. The host/server was so nice to me and I sat outside, she was very attentive and kept checking on me. I got the spinach and artichoke dip with toasted bread, my goodness it was soo delicious I didn’t want it to end. Lovely music playing while you enjoy a beautiful day in the quarters, definitely adding this to my places to come back too.

Was calling it a day after a long day of meetings and walking around in the rain trying to find a place to relax and enjoy some dinner… my co worker found it right before getting back to the hotel and best unplanned stop!!! We ordered the Bloody Mary and absolutely delicious and fresh made just right!!! Ordered some fried calamari and it was sweet and tender and not over fried at all! The dipping sauce was sweet and spicy but not overwhelming! Also got the salmon in some creamy lemony capers sauce with potatoes and asparagus…. This was amazingly delicious flaky and soft but that sauce was melting in your mouth sooo good!!!! But then we said let’s go all the way and order dessert to go because we’re tired so we got the crème brûlée… it was a short walk but took my time to sit down in my hotel room but once I dug in, I couldn’t stop eating it and scraping the bottom of the container for every last bit!!! It was a very good portion! A great last meal for this trip! Our server Elizabeth was so sweet and had such a happy disposition she made us feel welcomed despite our rained on appearance! The place is so quaint and pretty! It was a pleasure eating there! Very Happy!

This place is a hidden gem! The service was quick, friendly and genuine. The food was not only beautiful but delicious. My husband and I went.. 2 dishes, 3 martinis and coffee for under $85… which is unheard of in the French Quarter. You will not be disappointed. Definitely will be returning.
