New Orleans’ accessible French cuisine

I had walked by the restaurant many times and wanted to try while we were visiting, and we were not disappointed. There were 9 of us, and they gave us the back room. They took great care to tell us what the best dishes or recommendations since it was our first time. The accommodations were amazing and the took such great care of us. Everyone had something different: the Salmon was amazing, french dip amazing, crepes amazing, it was all so tasty and delicious. The owner even came back to check on us. I highly recommend if you are visiting this is a must visit or if you're a local I am sure it will become a favorite.

This was a last minute pick and wow this it blow us away. The service/people were amazing and sweet and the food was so good for the value you get. We're coming back tomorrow for sure. It was that good.

So delicious!! I have zero complaints. The staff was incredibly kind and welcoming, food was great (good portions, flavorful, cooked perfectly, came out quickly), and it was a nice quiet break from the busy streets nearby. We got the spinach+artichoke dip to share and I got the lentil soup as my entree (I wasn't super hungry, though I wish I was because I could've eaten everything on the menu). Both came with slices of bread. Got the house white (a chardonnay) that was nice and crisp. I tried a bite of the chicken entree too and it was so juicy and paired well with the asparagus and potatoes. Everyone else loved their entrees and everything felt very reasonably priced. Out door seating available too. Ended things off with the crème brûlée— again, delicious (and I'm a baker so I have a high bar :). I will absolutely be coming back on my next trip to the city! I don't often leave reviews, but if anywhere deserves your business it's here.

Very relaxing, casual spot in the quarter convenient to the ferry and shopping. Excellent food and cocktails at very reasoble prices with friendly attentive staff. Has both inndoor and outdoor seating. Also offers to-options which are perfect for those staying in neaby hotels.

What a find!!!!!! We stayed at the Westin Hotel (during Mardi Gras 2026), and they had Izzat on their list of restaurants to visit. As we walked right down the street I was excited to see Izzat!! We went there and found the place to be very cute and cozy with both indoor and outdoor seating. Sweet Elizabeth waited on us, and what a delight she was!! My husband and I had their French Onion Soup and French Dip!!! Oh my gosh!!! That was the best French Onion Soup we ever had ( and we've had a lot)! And their French Dip was the best ever; it's always my go-to sandwich and Izzat's was the best!!!!
We enjoyed the service, the staff and the food so much that we went back the next day and ate the same foods!!! Absolutely delicious!!!!!!! And another sweet waitress, Jori, waited on us our second day. Both Elizabeth and Jori were just so nice and so efficient and just wonderful! They added to our great experience!
Izzat's other foods looked so yummy too. Wish we had more days there so we could have tried more of their foods!
If and when we go back to New Orleans, you can bet we will eat at Izzat's!!!! And anyone reading this review should definitely go eat at Izzat in New Orleans!!

Looking for a local reasonable priced supper and tried izzat. A real little gem . We had burgers and french onion and a crepe. All cooked fresh and really tasty. The little server was great . A must for a nice inexpensive meal.

Everything was so good, we got a savory crepe and a Nutella one and French onion soup. Service was amazing and the soup was one of the best I’ve ever had. Only thing I would change is to take the chocolate syrup off the crepe because it takes away from the Nutella but otherwise soooo good

This is a fun little French cafe serving great brunch. Pain Perdu (French toast) was a highlight. Definitely worth the stop!

This place has the best vibes, food, and drinks. I had the tomato and egg sandwich on sourdough (so lovely ) and my husband had the French omlete. The drinks were also on point! Loved the mimosa, Kir Royal, and, our favorite, the French Margarita.

We were here yesterday for a late lunch and had such an incredible experience that we had to come back again this morning for breakfast.

Yesterday I had the steak with smashed potatoes and asparagus — the flavor was absolutely unforgettable. It was one of those meals where every single bite feels special. I honestly have never tasted anything quite like it anywhere else. Simply divine.

Because of that amazing experience, we decided to return for breakfast — and it exceeded our expectations once again. Everything was beautifully prepared and just as delicious.

The restaurant is spotless, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the staff is genuinely kind and attentive. You can truly feel that everything is made and served with care and love.

This place is something special. Highly recommended — we will definitely be back again.

We stumbled upon this while we were searching for a place to eat. We have our favorites we go to Everytime we are in town and now this place has made its way to the top of the list. I wish I would have taken photos of everything that we ate but it smelled so good and was so beautiful I unfortunately ate it all before my husband had time to snap the pics. 🤣 The fried brussel sprouts with the balsamic was AMAZING and so different. The French Dip was on some of the softest bread I've ever eaten with the right amount of seasoning and the nutella crepe? .... Yeah, probably going back in the morning for another. This is a must stop whether you live here or are just visiting!

Hidden gem!! We’re so glad we stumbled upon Izzat. The food, service, and atmosphere are superb. We started with calamari and Brussels sprouts that were both delicious, then for our main course, I had the monte cristo and it was perfection, my husband had the French dip sandwich that was garlicky heaven, and our son had the steak fritta and it was so flavorful and tender. This little gem is definitely worth visiting and we’re so glad we found it and will make this a must-visit on our NOLA trips.

If you don’t eat at Izzet, you’re missing out. It’s a relatively new French restaurant and is close to the action of Bourbon street, but far enough away to be a bit quieter. We had some lattes, eggs Benedict, and Izzet Combo and couldn’t find a complaint with any of it.

Admittedly, I’m not really into poached eggs, but devoured my combo plate it was so good. The waitstaff got us seated immediately despite it being packed and did an excellent job checking in on us.

I’d recommend Izzet for 1-6 people, it’s quiet and cozy, very easy to chat without it being too loud.

Stopped in unexpectedly for a quick brunch, food and service were absolutely impeccable. I tried an iced vanilla latte, the Croque Madame, and the strawberry crepes. Chefs kiss.

Quaint and quiet atmosphere, wonderfully friendly staff and the food is on-par with the big name New Orleans breakfast cuisine. The avocado toast and “Izzat Combo” egg plate will have us coming back here anytime we’re in the city again.

They offer to open your own BYOB as well. Coffee. Tea. Blue Moon pitchers as well. The real draw is the true French flavor here in the French Quarter. Fabulous. Our server was a sweet and wonderful young woman who was ready for our every need. We will be back!!

We loved our experience here! In an area where everything was packed for Mardi Gras, we were able to be seated right away at Izzat. The food was phenomenal. We especially loved the Brussels sprouts with sweet chili, French onion soup, and the French dip. The service was great. They were attentive and so sweet. The hot spinach and artichoke sandwich was amazing!!! (Croque Mademoiselle)The bread was so moist yet firm. The cheese was so moist and melted just right; it was so good. This also comes with a side vinaigrette salad. I was halfway done when I thought about taking a picture.

The owner and staff are incredibly kind and the food and coffee were so delicious! We tried two customer favs, the ham and cheese crepes and Izzat Combo eggs Benedict with vanilla lattes. So SO fire! Truly one of the best food we had in New Orleans. The steak (5/5) was so incredibly tender, juicy, and had excellent marbling (probably a Prime cut). The lamb chops (5/5) were literally melt in your mouth and the veggies that came with both were flavorful and well cooked. Crmee.brulee (5/5) was also amazing. Super highly recommend!!!

We both wanted a French dip. I have to say I'm glad we split one I never could have eaten it by myself. It was probably the best one I've ever had! The French onion soup was delicious and Spinach Artichoke dip was super fresh and a huge portion. Our waitress was really friendly and fast! I highly recommend stopping in!!!

Loved our breakfast at Izzat. In a sea of heavy food options, Izzat offers delicious French classics that won't be too hard on the digestion. I had the tomato and egg sandwich on a croissant with fruit on the side and it was divine. Plus, a quiet, relaxing atmosphere and attentive service. Loved it!

Love, love, love! Off the beaten path, but still close in the quarter. This quiet haven has great food and nice wine in a French bistro setting with very welcoming staff. Only caveat, limited beer selection.

This place is amazing! We had lunch there our first day in town and loved it so much, we went back for brunch the next day. They French Dip sandwich is the best I have ever had, and my friend had the ham and cheese omelette and Nutella crepe were out of this world. The staff was so sweet and attentive. This place is fabulous!

Incredible breakfast. So good in fact that we decided to make IZZAT the official breakfast spot of the trip. Special shout out to our amazing server ELIZABETH who was beyond attentive and sweet. The downside was not enough mornings to try the rest of the menu.

Such a great start to my day, venturing from my hotel across the street solo in the city. I find this cute location with wonderful informative staff. I was on a hunt for crepes and found gold! I was sat by the window which was ideal. The whole experience was delish, very cozy setting so don't come in here and rush the atmosphere. Lentil soup and crepes were more than wonderful. The green tea was my cake icing. Thank you for the smiles and full belly. When I come back to town, I know where to go! Blessings!

We all but stumbled into this restaurant trying to find breakfast and we could not have been happier. Incredibly friendly staff, quaint interior, and great location just slightly off the heaviest foot traffic of the French Quarter. The food was delicious: even my picker eater really enjoyed the egg breakfast sandwich, and the omelettes were great! Favorite part by far was the vanilla latte. 10/10 recommend and absolutely best of luck to this new gem!

A New Orleans must visit for delicious French food. At noon on a Saturday there was no wait so we immediately sat down. We opted for breakfast food with a French onion soup in the mix. Highly recommend the French omelette, soup and farm fold over. Service was so nice and very attentive.

This is a hidden gem. Walk past the lines at the well known spots and give them a try. Delicious food with something for everyone. Came for breakfast - I had the Eggs Sardou, which were delicious. (Tip order an extra slice of the sourdough toast from the Ayu Bakehouse to soak up all the delicious "gravy".)

We had a great dinner at Izzat. The mussels and French dip were both delicious and the service was fast and incredibly friendly. The only ding I could give is that there was smooth jazz playing that was kind of a bummer in a city filled with such great music, but that's not worth deducting a star over. If you want to get away from the tourist traps of bourbon street and pay a reasonable amount of good food, this is the place. Very authentic cafe vibes and incredibly kind/attentive staff. I swung by during a work trip.

I had the French onion soup to start, which was great and not too heavy. For my main, I had the steak frites - pretty significant portion. Finally, I dove in before taking a picture, I had the homemade crème brûlée which was great.

Delicious quality food!

Stopped here for lunch on a rainy Sunday so it wasn’t too busy and we got right in. The food was absolute perfection! We shared a French onion soup and it was so delicious and full of fresh herbs and garlic and onions and topped with stringy cheese and crusty croutons. My husband got the Cuban and I got the artichoke and spinach sandwich. Everything was SO good! The sandwiches were served with a perfectly dressed salad. We would definitely stop here again for some fresh fare that is something a little different than the typical fried southern seafood. They also have a bunch of outdoor seating but it was raining when we went. The prices were also incredibly reasonable.

Arrived at about 11am for a late breakfast. I ordered the French omelette which came with lyonnaise potatoes, and sourdough toast. The omelette could’ve been more custard like on the inside. It was a little dry for a French omelette. The Potatoes had rosemary in it, which I’m a little unaccustomed to for breakfast. The sourdough toast had garlic on it, which I am also a little unaccustomed to for breakfast. In any case, everything tasted very nice.
Two days later, I had the eggs Benedict, which was lovely. I’ll be back for dinner in the next few days.

It was a such a nice feeling to be greeted with a smile that has been present throughout our entire dining experience.
As a big plus, not only the atmosphere was cozy and friendly, but also the food lived up to our expectations.
We have had the Brussels sprouts which were perfectly crispy and covered with the right amount of balsamic and Parmezan, and we couldn't have left without trying the French onion soup which was also very flavourful.
As main courses we chose the Steak and fries with the French dip, and again, I couldn't help but eat all the fries. They had such a good crisp and flavour, excellent. The steak was cooked and tasted as expected. And the chicken salad was seasoned perfectly and the chicken itself was very tender, juicy, covered in a slightly sweet marinade with the caramelised onions were just the perfect combination to my taste.
In addition to the salad there was also a crunchy, homemade style slice of bread which is balancing the salad on point.

Izzat provided us with not one but two meals on our four day trip in New Orleans and we might make it three. It’s that good- the simple but deeply flavorful French cuisine executed without pretension is worth a visit alone. But the kind and friendly staff, led by our new friend Jorry, makes it a place to return to.

So good! The food really exceeded my expectations. Not a ton of seating inside, but will definitely be back. Mimosas were fabulous and the spinach and artichoke dip was great. Croque Madame for my meal was amazing.

On a side street, relatively small. Food is incredible and not very expensive. Good spot

Was walking down Decatur looking for some breakfast and happened to see a sign for Izzat. We took a chance and are so glad that we did ! Fresh, delicious, and well portioned. Definitely recommend coming here if you’re in the area looking for some good food a little off the beaten path.

We decided on dinner here due to the other excellent reviews, and everyone else was spot on. We started with the spinach and artichoke dip with some kind of magical toasted bread with a rosemary and garlic butter sauce 10/10. We also shared the mussels with a white wine cream sauce which we’re to die for, hands down the best I’ve ever had! 10/10. The sourdough bread and shoestring fries that accompanied the mussels was equally as delicious. We just can’t wait to come back and experience this again!!!

The French dip with the au jus was delicious! Looking forward to coming back and trying everything else!

Great food and atmosphere. Attentive staff. We came here for crepes and they were delicious and great.

Very pleasant atmosphere with delicious food well worth the price. The French onion soup is more “mild” than others we’ve had, but the steak frites and moules frites were wonderful.

Very good food. I got the Monsieur Croque sandwich and it was delicious. The salad dressing was very unique, and I was a big fan.
