New Orleans’ accessible French cuisine

I found this place on a quick Google search for lunch. I’m so glad that I found it! The French dip was the most delicious sandwich! The waitstaff and owner were kind and attentive. I hope that they stay in business because New Orleans needs little gems like this all over the place! Go and enjoy!

Fantastic from start to finish. Izzat is one of those places that you could easily walk straight past without giving it a second thought. From the outside it doesn’t look like much, and inside it’s plain and simple, but don’t let that put you off, let the food do the talking!

We visited during happy hour, and while the $5 wine was very nice indeed, the real star of the show was the food.

The lamb chops were absolutely beyond brilliant, beautifully cooked, packed with flavour and easily some of the best I’ve had. And the crêpes were as French as you can get, absolutely delicious.

This place really is a hidden gem. Don’t come here just for the cheap wine during happy hour; come for the food. You won’t be disappointed.

Got the French onion soup and French toast based sandwich croque monsieur and both were absolutely delicious. The women serving us was extremely kind and they had kitten videos playing which was extra cute.

It is a small place with indoor/outdoor seating and the food is amazing! We choose from the Coolinary menu (appetizer, main course and dessert). Portions were large. Crème brûlée is homemade and delicious as is the Affogato. Very friendly.

I had breakfast here in the morning and came back for lunch in the afternoon—and both meals were delicious. The dishes were high quality, flavorful, and the service was excellent. It’s not the cheapest place, but I felt the quality and overall experience were worth it.

For someone with a Mediterranean taste, this was easily one of the best food options I found in New Orleans. I would definitely come back!

This French bistro was a wonderful find on our lunchtime walk through the neighborhood. The restaurant is inviting and casual. The staff are wonderful and the menu offers some wonderful French classics at a very reasonable price point. I would definitely recommend this gem to locals and tourists alike. Charming, quaint restaurant hidden away from the bustling streets.

I ordered the Steak Frites and fried Brussel sprouts. We also took advantage of the price fixe menu with Lamb chops, french onion soup and Creme brule.

Steak was really good if you like ribeye and the marbling that comes with it. The portion was generous and cooked well. Fries were crisp and plentiful. The brussel sprouts were some of the best I've ever had.


Shoutout to our server, Jorlyn who was kind and attentive to our needs.

Only super nit pickly thing is that the door doesn't automatically close, so some "unaware" guests left it open a few times welcoming in a curious fly. SO if you go, please be kind to the other guests and close the door behind you 🙂

What a great spot, and so close to my hotel (Marriott New Orleans on Canal St)! I enjoyed their French 75, the Brussels sprouts appetizer, and the mussels with frites entree. Everything was delicious, and the service was great. There isn’t much dining space, so I’m glad my group of 5 called ahead for reservations. Happy 1 year to Izzart!

Cute, low key restaurant, a welcome respite from the hustle & bustle of the French Quarter. The French dip was amazing, well constructed & on a perfectly toasted brioche. The mussels were in a broth that was thicker than usual but it worked. Fries were excellent, as were the creme brulee & strawberry crepes.

We walked by and decided to try this place out and it was a huge surprise! Everything we had was delicious. We got the Coolinary special and it was a great taste of the menu. The French onion is a must try as well as the spinach artichoke dip. The monte cristo is 10/10 (no pictures because it was too good to wait) I can’t wait to come back!

Izzat was an excellent choice! We were walking on the way to the aquarium and decided to give them a try. They are small quaint little place.

We enjoyed the steak sandwiches, which were cooked perfectly, tender, and full of flavor. The charcuterie board was fresh, beautifully presented, and paired wonderfully with our mimosas.

The atmosphere was warm, relaxing, and perfect for a date or a casual meal that included our 7 year old twins (kids safe from unwanted adult scenes all around the French quarters area)

The service was friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived.

Having breakfast at Izzat was an amazing experience. The location was super convenient and the space is so cute and intimate. The customer service was top notch! Staff were so polite and welcoming, offering such impeccable hospitality. The food was so delicious!! My eggs were cooked to perfection and my potatoes were super flavorful. The illy espresso blew me away because it was so delightful. I had to get an extra one to-go. I’ve been to Nola a few times and have never dined at a place so great. Off the beaten path of other brunch locations as far as downtown NOLA goes, very good sourdough toast and the farmers fold omelette with potatoes was great.

We didn’t think a straight five stars was real. BUT. It’s real. The environment, the food, and the service, were all top notch. Jori our waiter kept us exceptional well taken care of. The chef was truly impressive. Knock out our party of six with ease! Do not sleep on this new spot. I immediately saved this spot for another time!

This is a beautiful restaurant with great service and food!! They even had enough options for my vegetarian friends, which is rare at a French restaurant.

French Dip was absolutely delicious, not at all what I've experienced before! It's not a hoagie with deli meat, its presentation is more akin to a panini. The steak and cheese was tender and savory. The French Onion soup was fantastic. The shoe string fries were perfectly crispy and salty. The chocolate and creme crepe (with strawberries, bananas, and ice cream) was perfect. My orders came out quickly and the staff were incredibly friendly. My only complaint is that I'm full!

You can taste the care in each bite that you take. For a place that has not been around for long, the restaurant feels like it’s been here for a long time. The confidence in which each dish is served is half the fun; it’s such joy to see the staff take pride in what they do. Makes each bite taste all the better.

We ordered the French Onion Soup, French Dip Sandwich and the Tiramisu. Each one came and brought smiles to our faces. The French Onion soup was perfect in every way and my girlfriend (who loves French Onion Soup) said it was the best she had ever had.

The French Dip sandwich was anything but ordinary. The meat melted in your mouth and the cheese and spices were a perfect compliment to it. I wish we had ordered two!

The Tiramisu was perfect in every way. The textures were spot on, the crust was crunchy and delicate. I'm not a huge fan of the dish, but this one blew my mind and had me wanting more.

I would travel back to NOLA just to eat here.

Walked right in on a Sunday morning to a cool, relaxing atmosphere with music that added to the ambiance. Service was wonderful and such care was taken with the food. Our 10-year-olds were delighted with the yummy Nutella crepes topped with strawberries and bananas. We can’t decide if we enjoyed the delicious tomato sandwich or croquet monsieur more and the latte hit the spot. Definitely a can’t miss place an easy walk from our hotel!
