New Orleans’ accessible French cuisine

We had lunch at Izzat today and it was fantastic! The French dip is perfectly cooked and delicious, I will come back to have this next time we are in town! The service was quick, and friendly. I definitely recommend eating here!

What an absolute gem of a restaurant. I regret not grabbing pics of our entrees. But snapped a photo or two of the crepes. I’m gonna be a regular here every time I walk by this spot. The French onion soup was legendary. And the croque madame couldn’t have been more perfect. But you gotta leave room for these crepes! Go here ASAP. The folks running the place are sweethearts to boot.

Truly the most fantastic food and wonderful waitress!! Atmosphere was fantastic, warm and very clean! Also learned they were a very youbg restaurant but the food tasted like a restaurant that has been around for a long time. Timeless and delicious!

A quaint cafe with excellent food and service. The salmon with lemon-caper sauce was outstanding, and mashed potatoes and asparagus on the side paired well. We also had the spinach and artichoke crepe (with added cheese) with the house salad. Everything was great at a reasonable price.

This is such a fantastic little French bistro. Authentic Paris french not Nola french. Absolutely so delicious!!! Really a best kept secret in New Orleans. Had breakfast one day and lunch the next. Need to come back for dinner. I Typically don’t repeat restaurants when in a new city but this restaurant is so good. The staff is so genuinely nice and so on point. A mist when in Nola.

I am a local and would come down here any time. The French dip is one of the best I have ever had. The meat is super tender and the grilled onions are perfect. Had the choc mouse cake for dessert, and it was well worth the calories.

Wonderful service group had steak frites with perfect shoestring fries but eh star of the show not picture was the ham and cheese French toast sandwich with blackberry jam.

Wow, wow, wow… it’s a new place in the past year but feels like it’s been here for a while in a good way from the food, drinks to the amazing service. It’s a small place with a great feel to it.

Adorable little restaurant with excellent food. Definitely a must for getting out of the touristy area. Happy hour has a nice drink called the Chicken Cock Whiskey Sour. Give it a try.

Just here for a meeting and stumbled upon this little corner restaurant and thought, “let’s give it a try!” I love physically little eating spots - not sure why, just feels like little restaurants and cafe’s are more concerned with the food and the service than bigger restaurants. They didn’t disappoint! I had the Chicken Paillard Salad - was wonderful!!!! Finished with a Illy espresso. Will come back here for sure! Oh, and the service was great. My waitress was all smiles!! 😁

What a hidden gem!! I passed this place on a walk once I got to my hotel from the airport. I stopped in for lunch and was greeted with amazing hospitality and such a peaceful atmosphere. I got the French onion soup and shoestring fries which were delicious!!!! Definitely a must stop when in NOLA!

This place was absolutely amazingggggg. The food was so good! We got the salmon entree, steak entree, & vegetable crepe and when I tell you… it was beautiful.

The food was so exceptional that I visited twice during my weekend in New Orleans. I had the French Dip and the Moules Frites, the latter of which is a personal favorite. I will certainly return the next time I am in the city.

I found this place on a quick Google search for lunch. I’m so glad that I found it! The French dip was the most delicious sandwich! The waitstaff and owner were kind and attentive. I hope that they stay in business because New Orleans needs little gems like this all over the place! Go and enjoy!

Delicious French inspired restaurant. Small European feel. Delicious..

This is one of the more memorable visits on our family road trip through the USA. We did eat a lot of seafood and Creole food in the city but since New Orleans was a French colony, we thought we should try French food. The review for this restaurant is pretty high on Google and Yelp, which attracted us initially. We were also tired of the over-seasoned (very salty) foods that many people take for "flavor" and hope the foreign cuisine would bring some balance to our diet (so my kidneys can rest). This restaurant is not over hyped and did bring much needed relief to our craving for well prepared food and not corporate food. The restaurant is rather cozy with a boutique feel to it. The service is good and attentive and the food is outstanding! It's value for money is also high, especially the steak and fries. In a city that takes your money like Monopoly money, I would say that we are glad they took our money for the much-appreciated services provided and give us (some) hope for the food service industry in the US. This is definitely one of our favorite places to visit on this trip and we are happy to endorse this establishment like others in the reviews.

Fantastic from start to finish. Izzat is one of those places that you could easily walk straight past without giving it a second thought. From the outside it doesn’t look like much, and inside it’s plain and simple, but don’t let that put you off, let the food do the talking!

We visited during happy hour, and while the $5 wine was very nice indeed, the real star of the show was the food.

The lamb chops were absolutely beyond brilliant, beautifully cooked, packed with flavour and easily some of the best I’ve had. And the crêpes were as French as you can get, absolutely delicious.

This place really is a hidden gem. Don’t come here just for the cheap wine during happy hour; come for the food. You won’t be disappointed.

Got the French onion soup and French toast based sandwich croque monsieur and both were absolutely delicious. The women serving us was extremely kind and they had kitten videos playing which was extra cute.

It is a small place with indoor/outdoor seating and the food is amazing! We choose from the Coolinary menu (appetizer, main course and dessert). Portions were large. Crème brûlée is homemade and delicious as is the Affogato. Very friendly.

I had breakfast here in the morning and came back for lunch in the afternoon—and both meals were delicious. The dishes were high quality, flavorful, and the service was excellent. It’s not the cheapest place, but I felt the quality and overall experience were worth it.

For someone with a Mediterranean taste, this was easily one of the best food options I found in New Orleans. I would definitely come back!

This French bistro was a wonderful find on our lunchtime walk through the neighborhood. The restaurant is inviting and casual. The staff are wonderful and the menu offers some wonderful French classics at a very reasonable price point. I would definitely recommend this gem to locals and tourists alike. Charming, quaint restaurant hidden away from the bustling streets.

I ordered the Steak Frites and fried Brussel sprouts. We also took advantage of the price fixe menu with Lamb chops, french onion soup and Creme brule.

Steak was really good if you like ribeye and the marbling that comes with it. The portion was generous and cooked well. Fries were crisp and plentiful. The brussel sprouts were some of the best I've ever had.


Shoutout to our server, Jorlyn who was kind and attentive to our needs.

Only super nit pickly thing is that the door doesn't automatically close, so some "unaware" guests left it open a few times welcoming in a curious fly. SO if you go, please be kind to the other guests and close the door behind you 🙂

Cute, low key restaurant, a welcome respite from the hustle & bustle of the French Quarter. The French dip was amazing, well constructed & on a perfectly toasted brioche. The mussels were in a broth that was thicker than usual but it worked. Fries were excellent, as were the creme brulee & strawberry crepes.

We walked by and decided to try this place out and it was a huge surprise! Everything we had was delicious. We got the Coolinary special and it was a great taste of the menu. The French onion is a must try as well as the spinach artichoke dip. The monte cristo is 10/10 (no pictures because it was too good to wait) I can’t wait to come back!

Izzat was an excellent choice! We were walking on the way to the aquarium and decided to give them a try. They are small quaint little place.

We enjoyed the steak sandwiches, which were cooked perfectly, tender, and full of flavor. The charcuterie board was fresh, beautifully presented, and paired wonderfully with our mimosas.

The atmosphere was warm, relaxing, and perfect for a date or a casual meal that included our 7 year old twins (kids safe from unwanted adult scenes all around the French quarters area)

The service was friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived.

The illy espresso blew me away because it was so delightful. I had to get an extra one to-go. I’ve been to Nola a few times and have never dined at a place so great. Off the beaten path of other brunch locations as far as downtown NOLA goes, very good sourdough toast and the farmers fold omelette with potatoes was great.

We didn’t think a straight five stars was real. BUT. It’s real. The environment, the food, and the service, were all top notch. Jori our waiter kept us exceptional well taken care of. The chef was truly impressive. Knock out our party of six with ease! Do not sleep on this new spot. I immediately saved this spot for another time!

This is a beautiful restaurant with great service and food!! They even had enough options for my vegetarian friends, which is rare at a French restaurant.

French Dip was absolutely delicious, not at all what I've experienced before! It's not a hoagie with deli meat, its presentation is more akin to a panini. The steak and cheese was tender and savory. The French Onion soup was fantastic. The shoe string fries were perfectly crispy and salty. The chocolate and creme crepe (with strawberries, bananas, and ice cream) was perfect. My orders came out quickly and the staff were incredibly friendly. My only complaint is that I'm full!

You can taste the care in each bite that you take. For a place that has not been around for long, the restaurant feels like it’s been here for a long time. We ordered the French Onion Soup, French Dip Sandwich and the Tiramisu. Each one came and brought smiles to our faces. The French Onion soup was perfect in every way and my girlfriend (who loves French Onion Soup) said it was the best she had ever had.

The French Dip sandwich was anything but ordinary. The meat melted in your mouth and the cheese and spices were a perfect compliment to it. I wish we had ordered two!

The Tiramisu was perfect in every way. The textures were spot on, the crust was crunchy and delicate. I'm not a huge fan of the dish, but this one blew my mind and had me wanting more.

I would travel back to NOLA just to eat here.
